SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of those buzzwords that anybody with a real estate website has likely heard. However, many Real Estate Agents are too busy running their business to put the the time and effort it takes to improve their website’s SEO.
That’s why we have upgraded the SEO features on all our WordPress websites.
1) WordPress SEO by Yoast:
We have decided to migrate from using the “All In One SEO” plugin to “WordPress SEO by Yoast” for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on pages and posts. The latter is more powerful and includes on-page content analysis to help you improve the content on your pages so that they perform better on the search engines.
When editing a page or post, you will see a section underneath the content editor that allows you to edit the SEO and Page Analysis settings for that page/post (pictured below).
Any Titles or Meta Descriptions that were entered using All In One SEO have been migrated to the equivalent in WordPress SEO. In addition, you can now change the Title and Meta Description on the homepage without requiring us to make that change for you.
This is a very powerful plugin that will benefit you in many ways:
- Edit Title and Meta tags without having to know any HTML programming whatsoever.
- Make sure your content has the recommended number of keywords for higher search rankings.
- Easily see exactly what you need to improve on a page in order to achieve higher search rankings.
- Learn about specific parts of a website page that impact search engines, and get a leg up on your competition!
2) SEO Friendly Images Plugin
We have installed the SEO Friendly Images plugin for all our WordPress websites and blogs. This automatically adds ALT and TITLE attributes to all the images on your website. These attributes are viewed by search engines when crawling your website, and they help with achieving higher search rankings.
These attributes attribute describe your images to search engines and when a user searches for a certain image these attributes are key determining factors for a match.
The ALT and TITLE tags are automatically set by the new plugin using the Title of a Page/Post and the image file name. This won’t effect images that have already Alt and Title attributes set.
This saves you time and effort, and also enables you to add important SEO elements into your website without having to learn any HTML programming.

I’ve been waiting for mobile functionality. Now my clients will be able to search while on the go. Thanks for all these features. I’ve been using the SEO on my blog, but intend to learn more about how to write appropriate copy.
